April 26, 2006 Italian Online Investing Forecast: 2006 To 2011by Tim van Tongeren with Cliff Condon, Ashara Giordanelli |
|
This is an excerpt
Italian investors are returning to the Net to research and buy stocks and funds. For the coming five years, we expect the numbers to continue to grow — by 2011, 2.9 million Italians will research stocks and funds online, and 1 million Italians will buy online. Existing investors moving their activities online will mainly drive this growth, rather than large numbers of new consumers beginning to buy and hold investments. Cheaper commission fees will also move investors online, but the lack of strong economic growth and mediocre trading tools will keep the growth moderate.
