We recently completed The SAP Services Landscape, Q3 2024. A lot has changed in the SAP ecosystem since the last edition of this Forrester landscape. SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA cloud migrations are taking center stage for the vast majority of SAP clients. The RISE with SAP offering has undergone massive changes in the last two years. There’s now a clear pathway to SAP S/4HANA Cloud with most of the existing enterprise core component (ECC) install base choosing cloud private edition conversion (RISE with SAP offering) from old perpetual licenses. Most RISE programs are also accompanied by multi-year complex business transformation programs. Yet many clients still struggle to make the business case for RISE due to the constant change in pace of transformation that generally accompanies SAP projects and upgrades. There’s also S/4HANA Cloud public edition which forms the GROW with SAP offering for net new mid-market clients looking for leaner enterprise resource planning (ERP). However, many large enterprise clients are looking to public edition in two-tier mode.

The bottom line is SAP is still the world’s largest provider of enterprise application software and some of the world’s most complex and largest enterprises adopt SAP products. SAP customers generate 87% of total global commerce and they would not be able to realize value and ROI from the vast SAP product portfolio without its thriving and robust services partners program.
