Consumer sentiment on forward-looking statements, like the long-term financial picture and economic direction, has seen a slight uptick. But their attitudes toward their current financial situation show a slight downward trend. Marketers must keep abreast of the sentiment of their target audience, especially in the face of ambiguity. Consumers have always been reactive — generally optimistic about the future, but apprehensive about the present.
