Fueled by a growing appetite for employee data to improve workforce analytics and insights, a wave of regulatory and legal activity to protect employee data is coming in 2021. With the UK set to become a “third country” for data protection matters and significant changes coming in the privacy landscape in the US, the complexity of privacy compliance will increase. While values-based consumers force companies to make privacy more strategic, CMOs will increase their capabilities to collect zero-party data, and 40% of privacy officers will report to their CEOs by the end of 2021.
